[Falkirk, 08.01.2026] Falkirk MP Euan Stainbank has welcomed today’s announcement of £9.8 million for the Forth Valley region through the UK Government’s new Local Growth Fund, describing it as a “significant opportunity” to drive jobs, skills and long-term prosperity across Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire.

The funding forms part of a £140 million UK Government investment across five Scottish regions over the next three years and will be allocated through the Forth Valley Regional Economic Partnership to support locally-led projects such as infrastructure, business support and skills development.

Mr Stainbank said the investment must now be matched with a clear focus on delivery, ensuring that funding reaches projects which genuinely benefit working people and support the region’s industrial future.

Mr Stainbank said:

“This £9.8 million investment is a welcome boost for Forth Valley and shows the UK Labour Government is serious about backing our regional economy and raising living standards.

“For communities like Falkirk, Grangemouth and across the wider Forth Valley, this funding must translate into real outcomes — good, secure jobs, strong local businesses, and the skills people need to take advantage of new opportunities.

“With major changes ahead for our industrial base, particularly around Grangemouth, it is essential that investment is targeted at infrastructure and skills that support re-industrialisation and a just transition for workers.

“Local leaders understand the challenges and opportunities our area faces, and they must now be empowered to use this funding effectively. I will be working closely with partners across Forth Valley to make sure Falkirk and our neighbouring communities see tangible benefits from this investment.

“This funding also underlines the need for the Scottish Government to play its part — particularly when it comes to supporting colleges, skills provision and local infrastructure. UK investment can only go so far if devolved responsibilities such as our College sector continue to be neglected by the SNP.”

Mr Stainbank said he would continue to work with local authorities, employers, colleges and the third sector to ensure the funding delivers long-term value for the Forth Valley economy and supports communities through industrial transition.
