[Falkirk, 03.03.2026] Falkirk MP Euan Stainbank has welcomed confirmation that the Chancellor has allocated the Scottish Government an additional £921 million in Barnett consequentials in today’s Spring Statement.

Since the General Election in July 2024, the Scottish Government has received nearly £12 billion in additional funding from the UK Labour Government.

The Spring Forecast confirms that the Government’s plan to cut the cost of living, reduce national debt and grow the economy is delivering stability and investment across the United Kingdom. Through responsible management of the public finances, investment in infrastructure and economic reform, the Government is building a stronger and more secure economy for every part of Britain.

The Secretary of State for Scotland, Douglas Alexander MP, said:

“This Labour Government has ended austerity and is delivering for Scotland, with £12bn extra funding since we entered Government in 2024. But once again I must ask the First Minister, where is the money John?

“Hundreds of thousands of Scots are on NHS waiting lists, we have a justice system past breaking point, an education system going backwards and the scandal of over 10,000 kids in temporary accommodation.

“After 20 years of SNP government, Scotland needs change. And only Scottish Labour can deliver it.”

Mr Stainbank said:

“The SNP Scottish Government has received £12 billion in additional funding since the General Election in 2024. The question for people in Falkirk is simple — what do we have to show for it?

“Our NHS waiting lists remain far too long. Families are struggling to access the support they need. Public services across Scotland are under severe pressure.

“This funding demonstrates that a UK Labour Government is delivering for Scotland. But it is for the SNP Government in Edinburgh to use that money wisely and ensure communities like ours see real improvements.

“People in Falkirk deserve competent government that gets the basics right — from healthcare and education to housing and local services. That is what this election is about: replacing an out of time and out of ideas SNP Government. Only Scottish Labour with Anas Sarwar as First Minister is offering that.”
